The Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection (SCEP) is the current recommended Antivirus/Malware application for University computers. This application allows for Managed and Non-Managed client. The University recommends Microsoft Security Essentials for personal computers.
Instructions
In order to install Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection (SCEP), please follow the steps below:
- Go to UNC Shareware site.
- Download and run the Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection Non-Managed Client Installer.
Windows 7
A Restart is Required for this install.
Click on Yes to allow access for the User Account Control (UAC) to install the client.
Click on Next
Click on I accept.
Click on the radio button I do not want to join the program at this time.
Click on Next
Check the box If no firewall is on, turn on Windows Firewall (Recommend)
Click on Next
Click on Install
By default the check box Scan my computer for potential threats ofter getting the latest updates is checked.
Click on Restart Now
Windows 8, 8.1, 10
Click on Yes to allow access for the User Account Control (UAC) to install the client.
Click on Next
Click on I accept.
Click on the radio button I do not want to join the program at this time.
Click on Next
Check the box If no firewall is on, turn on Windows Firewall (Recommend)
Click on Next
Click on Install
By default the check box Scan my computer for potential threats ofter getting the latest updates is checked.
Click on Finish
