Virtual Lab: Installing or Upgrading on an iOS Device (iPhone, iPad)

This article covers how to connect to UNC's Virtual Lab from an iOS device.

Introduction

Virtual Lab is a system that lets you use your laptop or mobile device to access programs normally found only in computer labs and libraries. To use Virtual Lab on an iPhone, iPad, or other iOS device, the first step is to install the Citrix Workspace software.

You need to be connected to the internet when installing Citrix Workspace on your iOS device.

A direct link to the Citrix Workspace app on the App Store can be found here.

If you download the Workspace app directly from the link above, you can open the app and skip to step 6 below.

Instructions

  1. Tap on the App Store icon on your device to bring up the Apple application store.

  1. Seach for Citrix Workspace and then download the app.

  1. Once the app has finished installing, open the Citrix Workspace app
  2. Tap the Get Started button

  1. Type virtuallab.unc.edu in the Address box to create a New Account

  1. Tap Continue to verify the account
  2. Once the account has been verified, log on

Login screen

  1. Tap Sign in. After you successfully authenticate with MS Authenticator and your onyen credentials you will be able to browse the available apps in Virtual Lab.
