Report a Potential Cybersecurity Incident

Service Description

This service catalog item is for reporting a potential cybersecurity issue at Carolina, such as a suspected vulnerability, a suspected compromised account, a potentially hacked computer system, or a potential data exposure. Low-priority requests can also be sent via email to security@unc.edu. 

Please do not use this form for life and safety issues; instead, immediately call 911.  

Try not to do anything that will change the device or any evidence you might have about the reported concern.

If you believe any of the following, please select Emergency for the priority of the request: 

• A University account or a University-owned system has been compromised or accessed without authorization 

• Financial loss has occurred through misuse of a University system 

• Information for which the University has protection obligations (e.g. health data) may have been exposed
