Welcome to the support request form for the UNC School of Medicine’s Research Administration Improvement, Strategy, and Education (RAISE) office, part of the Sponsored Projects Administration Office (SPAO).


Use this form to submit inquiries or requests for guidance, resources, training, or process improvement related to research administration. Our team provides strategic and advisory support focused on improving processes, building skills, and enhancing compliance. While we do not directly process proposals or manage awards, we work closely with you and your department to ensure you have the knowledge, tools, and connections needed for successful research administration. Each request will be assigned to the appropriate RAISE team member to ensure you receive the best possible support.

    Advisory support on proposal preparation processes, budgeting approaches, and sponsor requirements (not day-to-day processing).
  • Post-Award Administration – Guidance & Best Practices
    Advisory support on award management, financial oversight practices, and reporting expectations (not day-to-day processing).
  • Training & Education – Requests & Assistance
    Requests for RAISE-led workshops, learning modules, or training resources on research administration topics.
  • Process Improvement & Standardization – Suggestions & Inquiries
    Questions or ideas for streamlining workflows, improving efficiency, or implementing standardized tools across departments.
  • Regulatory, Policy & Compliance Guidance – Questions & Interpretation
    Support in understanding and applying sponsor, institutional, or regulatory requirements, including compliance-related inquiries.
  • Tools & Resources – Access & Support
    Help with RAISE-developed templates, calculators, checklists, or process maps.
  • General Support / Other
    All other inquiries not covered above.
