Service Description
TouchNet is the university-approved payment gateway. To process payments via TouchNet, a CERTIFI-approved merchant account must exist. Use this request to initiate new user access, request a new pay site for an existing online merchant, or to report issues with online payment processing.

User/Customer Responsibilities
TouchNet users are responsible for:
- Keeping the computers they use to access the sytems up-to-date with operating system, browser and other application patches in compliance with the Information Security Controls Standard and related requirements.
- Protecting and never sharing their Onyens and Onyen passwords or otherwise giving system or data access to unauthorized users, in compliance with the Onyen Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and related requirements.
- Reporting data quality or integrity issues identified through use of the system, by submitting a ticket through help.unc.edu or 919-962-HELP.
- Following the instructions on the Safe Computing website for keeping their identity, devices, and the University’s data safe.
- Completing the annual PCI training prior to accessing any payment card related hardware or software devices. Contact your merchant SAQ preparer or certifi@unc.edu to be added to the annual PCI training.
Schools and divisions need to have administrative access removed from faculty or staff (including student employees) when their job responsibilities change.

To access TouchNet, you need an Internet browser.
Requirements
Requests for access to TouchNet are managed by the University Services team in Enterprise Applications, working with the CERTIFI committee for initial merchant account approval and setup. Access is granted after the person has completed the following:
- ITS Security Awareness Training
- PCI Training
- Received approval from the relevant SAQ approver
