Capabilities Overview
TeamDynamix (TDX) Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) is a centralized project management tool available to University departments at no cost. Key features of PPM include:
- Waterfall and Agile project plans
- Portfolio and program management
- Project templates
- Project creation via direct entry or project intake
- Project request approval workflows
- Project task and issue tracking
- Reporting and dashboards
- Activity feeds
- Linking or converting tickets to projects
Roles and Permissions
These three roles exist in PPM, and here is a summary of their permissions:
- Project Resources: TDX Agents can act as project resources, working on assigned tasks and viewing relevant project components.
- Project Managers: Have the permissions of Project Resources, plus the ability to view assigned projects, create and edit project plans, apply project templates, and close or deactivate projects they manage.
- Portfolio Managers: Have the permissions of Project Managers, plus the ability to manage and view portfolios and programs.
Group Membership Requirement — All TDX ticketing and project roles must be associated with a designated Grouper group (responsible group) within TDX..
Service Limitations
- Custom integrations with third-party or external systems are outside the scope of this service.
Support, Governance, and Responsibilities
Operational Support
The TDX Admin Team provides support for:
- Resolving submitted tickets
- Maintaining knowledge articles covering general project management operations
- Providing training for new project managers
- Supplying reference reports for project resources, project managers, and portfolio managers
- Assisting departments in creating customized reports and dashboards
Service Governance
The TDX Project Governance Group—comprised of one representatives from each user group—supports a unified, campus-wide project management framework. This group reviews all PPM configuration requests to maintain platform consistency and standardized service configurations.

Departmental Responsibilities
Departments using TDX Project are expected to:
- Assign a primary contact for communications and governance meetings
- Create help articles to address department-specific needs
- Train future project managers and project resources within their department
Onboarding to TDX Projects
Here are the high-level steps to get started:
- Submit a ticket.
- Attend an Information Session: After receiving your request, the TDX Admin Team will schedule an info session to demonstrate key project management tasks and address your team's questions.
- Evaluate in Sandbox Environment: Following the information session if you choose to proceed, your project management staff will receive sandbox access to evaluate and test whether the application meets your project management requirements.
- Proceed to Go-Live: Upon deciding to adopt TDX Project, the TDX Admin Team will provide training to your staff and grant them access to the production environment.
