Service Description
Virtual Lab provides students with direct access to applications.
Students are no longer confined to physical computers located on campus to access applications that are needed for classes. Applications are now available virtually in the Virtual Lab (VL) through the Citrix workspace software that is installed on their device.
VL is an on-demand application delivery solution. This solution enables applications to be instantly delivered as a service to users via computer or mobile devices connected to a network from any location, on or off-campus. This approach gives students flexibility and independence in how and where they work.
Each VL session provides access to applications, shared files, network and USB printers, and Carolina Print Hub printing. The applications are University-licensed using Windows, Microsoft, Linux, Unix, iOS, and Android client platforms.
Access to VL is available 24/7 and open to all Carolina students, faculty, and staff who have a UNC-Chapel Hill Onyen.

User/Customer Responsibilites
Customers agree to be familiar and adhere to the University's Acceptable Use Policy. They are also expected to provide any requested information relevant to their issue within the requested window (24 hours for General issues; 8 hours for important issues; 30 minutes for Critical issues). No response after 3 attempts to contact the customer will result in a ticket closeout.
