Service Description

The Classroom Hotline can show you how to take full advantage of the equipment available in your classroom. Request a demo of your classroom. 

Users without an Onyen will need to email Classroom Hotline at hotline@unc.edu

Note: Departmental classrooms may not be reserved by the University Registrar.

The Classroom Hotline provides technical support to all General Purpose Classrooms (GPCs) scheduled by the University Registrar’s Office. The Classroom Hotline designs, installs, and maintains all technical and audio-visual equipment found in these classrooms. The group also provides hands-on training for faculty, staff, and students using these rooms.

Rooms on campus that are not considered GPCs can engage in SLAs with the Classroom Hotline for a yearly fee for support.

Service Provisioning

To use Classroom Hotline services, you can pick up the telephone found in all the GPCs, you can call us at 919-962-6702, or email us at hotline@unc.edu.

Audience

Our services are used by employees, students, and anyone affiliated with UNC and has scheduled the use of a room through the Office of the University Registrar.

Requirements

User/Customer Responsibilities

We encourage clients to be familiar with the classrooms prior to using them if possible. Contact us in advance to schedule a hands-on demonstration of the technology found in the room so that we can fully show the client how the room operates and how to get the most out of the rooms' technology with demonstration.

Out of Scope

The Classroom Hotline does not support non-GPC rooms unless an SLA has already been established with the department. We do not offer ad-hoc support.

Hours of Operation

The Classroom Hotline support hours are 7.30am-9pm, Monday-Friday, with limited support hours after 5pm. Hotline support is not offered during official university closings, but clients can call 919-962-HELP and request a ticket be created for us.
