This article provides information on the transition from Mitel Communicator to Clearspan PING for remote calling.
The Communicator for desktop and UC-One Connect mobile app are no longer supported by the service provider. These clients are being replaced by Clearspan PING, a software client for remote calling.
While the existing Communicator and UC-One software will continue to function, technical support for these clients will no longer be available.

New Softphone Requests
Starting August 1, 2024, all new requests for softphones will be assigned to the Clearspan PING client. Existing softphone clients, such as Communicator and UC-One, will no longer be issued or supported.
Premium Communicator Users
For Premium Communicator users (those who make and receive phone calls directly within the Communicator or UC-One applications) the upgrade to Clearspan PING is available at no cost. You can submit a Telephone Service Request to initiate the transition in advance of the scheduled upgrades for all Premium Communicator users.
More information on a transition schedule to upgrade users from the legacy Premium Communicator (Desktop) and UC-One Connect (Mobile) clients to PING will be available soon.
Basic Communicator Users
If you are a Basic Communicator user, you can choose one of the following options:
- Continue Using the Remote Office or Call Forward Feature Without Basic Communicator: You can manage the Remote Office feature through the Clearspan User Portal after Basic Communicator has been removed from your phone number. Please see instructions to manage remote office here.
